If a company closes or goes bankrupt, the phone numbers assigned to employees under the company Telgea account may stop working unless action is taken. If these numbers originally belonged to employees before joining the company, Telgea can help release the phone numbers for personal use.
📳 Can Employees Keep Their Phone Numbers After a Company Closes?
Yes, employees can keep their phone numbers after a company closes, as long as those numbers were previously owned by them and were ported into the company’s Telgea account. In such cases, Telgea can release the numbers for individual porting to a new mobile provider.
📃 What Information Is Required To Release Phone Numbers?
To release phone numbers after a company closure, Telgea requires:
Admin Email Verification
The company administrator must verify their identity using the email address registered with Telgea. We will send a verification code to this address.A List of Phone Numbers to Be Released
The admin should provide a list of employees and the associated phone numbers that need to be transferred.Personnummer for Each Employee
For each number, we need the Swedish personal identification number (personnummer) of the employee. This personnummer will act as the porting code at the new provider.
📲 When Can Employees Begin Porting Their Phone Numbers?
Employees can begin porting their phone numbers as soon as the Telgea account admin is verified and all necessary information is submitted.
Once the process is complete, Telgea will mark the phone numbers as open for porting.
Each employee can then contact their new provider and initiate the port using their personnummer.
⏳ Tip: If your company’s billing cycle is close to renewal, we recommend porting out phone numbers as soon as possible to avoid additional charges.
🕛 Can Telgea Extend Access To Allow Time for Porting?
Yes, Telgea can extend access for a few days after a company closes to allow employees enough time to port their numbers. If needed, just inform our support, and we will confirm the extension.
⏭️ What Happens After Porting a Phone Number?
After a phone number is ported from a closed company account:
Telgea no longer manages the number,
The number becomes fully active under the new provider,
Charges from Telgea stop for that number.
If there is a failed porting attempt, we can re-enable the number for porting again upon request.
