📵 Smartwatch eSIM Not Working After Number Transfer to Telgea

Learn why smartwatch eSIMs stop working after a number transfer and what you can do about it.

Updated today

❌ Why Did the Smartwatch eSIM Stop Working?

If you’ve recently transferred a mobile number to Telgea and a connected smartwatch eSIM has stopped working, it’s due to the following:

  • Telgea does not currently support eSIMs for smartwatches.

  • When the mobile number is ported to Telgea, the original eSIM on the smartwatch (often tied to the previous carrier) becomes deactivated or unlinked.

📳 Can the Smartwatch eSIM Be Reactivated?

There may be a workaround to reactivate Smartwatch eSIM, but it depends on the status of the previous subscription:

🔄 Option 1: Old Subscription Still Active

If the previous mobile service is still active:

  • Contact the old carrier to re-provision the smartwatch’s eSIM.

  • This may restore data connectivity on the smartwatch with the old carrier.

🚫 Option 2: Old Subscription Canceled

If the subscription was canceled after the number port:

  • The old carrier may be able to issue a new eSIM profile for the smartwatch under a new or renewed plan.

⚠️ Note. These options will not allow calls or messages using your Telgea number on the smartwatch. They only enable the smartwatch to connect to mobile data via the previous network.

⌚ Can I Use My Telgea Number on the Smartwatch?

Telgea does not support linking a smartwatch eSIM to your Telgea number. This means you cannot make or receive calls or texts via the smartwatch using your Telgea line.

👨‍💻 Is Smartwatch eSIM Support Coming to Telgea?

Yes, Telgea is working on enabling smartwatch eSIM functionality in the future.

  • There is no confirmed release date yet, but updates will be shared when available.
