🌐 Fixing No Internet After Porting Your Number in the UK

Learn the troubleshooting steps to solve issues when there is no internet after porting your number in the UK.

If you’ve just ported your number to Telgea in the UK and are unable to connect to the internet, the issue is likely with your APN (Access Point Name) settings. Some devices don’t update these settings automatically when switching networks.


Proactive messages

When you first connect to the network in the UK, you will receive a text message similar to what you see below:


This is a network-generated message that allows you to download the APN settings right to your device by following the links.

However, in the case that you're unable to download these APN settings, you can request manual instructions, which will trigger the following text message:

Steps to update manually

  1. Ensure the device is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.

  2. Disable any eSIMs currently installed

  3. Update APN settings per your device below

Follow these steps to find your APN settings:

🍏 iPhone

Follow the steps depending on your model:

  • Settings > Mobile Service > Select the new Telgea eSIM > Mobile Data Network

    • OR

  • Settings > Mobile Data > Mobile Data Options > Mobile Data Network

  1. Go to Settings > Connections > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names.

  2. Tap + to add a new APN (or edit an existing one).

Add the correct APN settings

  • APN: gamma

  • Username: (leave empty or as applicable)

  • Password: (leave empty or as applicable)

MMS Settings

  • APN: gamma

  • Username: (leave empty or as applicable)

  • Password: (leave empty or as applicable)

  • MMS Proxy: mms.three.co.uk:8799

  • MMS Max Message Size: 307200

  • MMS UA Prof URL: (leave empty or as applicable)

  • Ensure Mobile Data is turned on.

  • Toggle Airplane Mode on and off.

  • Restart your phone if needed.
