The three roles
Role | What they can access |
Organization admin | Everything, including company settings and who has access |
Team admin | People, lines and usage for the teams they're assigned |
Accounting | Invoices, billing details and reports for the whole organization. No access to people or lines |
Organization admin
Organization admins can see and change everything in your organization: people, lines, plans, orders, billing, analytics, teams, company settings, and integrations (API keys and webhooks).
Only organization admins can open the Company account page. That makes them the only people who can give, change or remove portal access.
Team admin
Team admins manage only the people in the teams they've been given.
Portal area | What a team admin can do |
Overview | See only their people |
People | Add, edit and offboard their people, change plans, and suspend or end lines. New people they add go into one of their teams |
Numbers | Add numbers and transfer numbers in for their people |
Transfers | See only their people's transfers |
Teams | Edit their teams and team policies, add people from "Unassigned", remove people from their teams, and review policy override requests. They can't create or delete teams |
Analytics | See usage, spend and call records for their people only |
Notifications and emails | Receive only those about their people. No billing emails |
Your account | Manage their own details, number and plan |
Team admins don't have access to Company account, Billing, Data pool, Request data, Integrations, Get started, onboarding or business verification. These pages are hidden from their menu and can't be opened by URL either.
Accounting
Accounting covers billing and reporting for the whole organization.
Portal area | What Accounting can do |
Billing | View all invoices and billing entities. Edit a billing entity's name, invoice email, address, billing contact and tax details |
Analytics | See usage, spend and call records for the whole organization |
Your account | Manage their own details, number and plan |
Accounting users can't create or archive billing entities, choose the default billing entity, or move teams between billing entities. They don't have access to people, lines, numbers, transfers, teams or company settings.
When an Accounting user signs in, they land on Billing, and their menu shows only Billing and Analytics.
Want Accounting to receive invoices by email? Add them as a billing contact on the billing entity. The Accounting role alone doesn't send them invoices or admin emails.
The "Unassigned" team
Every organization has a default team called Unassigned. New employees join it until someone moves them into another team.
All team admins can see the names and emails of the people in Unassigned and add them to their own teams. When a team admin removes someone from their team, that person goes back to Unassigned. Unassigned itself can't be given to a team admin to manage.
How to give someone portal access
Log in to the Telgea Admin Portal.
Navigate to Company account.
In the Administrators panel, click Invite people.
Select one or more existing employees, or enter a new person's name and email.
Choose a role. For Team admin, select at least one team to manage.
Send the invite.
Access starts straight away. New people get an invitation email that says what access they've been given, for example "You've been invited as team admin for Sales and Support."
Everyone in one invite gets the same role. To give people different roles, send separate invites.
How to change or remove access
The Administrators panel lists everyone with portal access, their role, and the teams each team admin manages.
To change someone's access:
Click ⯠on their row.
Select Change access.
Update their role or teams and save.
The change applies from their next page load, and they get an email about their new access.
To remove someone's access:
Click ⯠on their row.
Select Remove and confirm.
They keep their own line and plan but can no longer sign in to the portal.
You can't change or remove your own access, so your organization always keeps at least one organization admin.
Good to know
Someone is missing from the invite list? They probably already have portal access. Use Change access on their row instead.
A team admin's team was deleted? If it was their last team, their row shows a warning. They can still sign in but won't see anything until an organization admin give them a team.
A team admin's own team and the teams they manage are separate. Moving a team admin to another team doesn't change which teams they manage.
API keys stay organization-wide and aren't affected by roles.
The Telgea mobile app is unchanged.
