What You’ll Need
To ensure your transfer request goes through smoothly, have the following details ready:
Number in E.164 format:
Example: +32 XXX XX XX XX
Depending on the ownership of the number:
For business-owned numbers
Current carrier name
Customer number with the current carrier (this can usually be found on an invoice or provided by the carrier)
For privately-owned numbers
ICCID of the current SIM card (this can be found in your phone settings or printed on the SIM card)
How It Works
Submit the request in the Telgea portal by following the steps for number porting.
Once the request has been submitted and approved, the transfer will be processed for your selected porting date.
Porting timeframes in Belgium
The processing timeframe depends on the type of number being transferred:
Business-owned numbers: Depending on the donor carrier, some transfers can take up to 48 hours to complete from your transfer day.
You can continue using your current mobile plan while the transfer is being processed. Your number will remain active with your current provider until the transfer is completed.
The exact time your number transfers can vary. In some cases, additional confirmation from the current provider may be required before the number can be released.
This also means that if several numbers are being transferred at the same time, they may not all complete at exactly the same time.
Quick Tips for Success
Keep Your Number Active: Your number must remain active with your current carrier until the transfer is complete.
Check Ownership Type: Make sure you provide the correct details depending on whether the number is business or privately owned.
Double-Check Details: Ensure all information matches your current provider’s records to avoid delays or rejection.
Allow for Processing Time: Your transfer may complete at any point during the applicable processing window, so don’t worry if it doesn’t happen immediately.
