🌍 Telgea eSIM Configuration Guide

Updated today

This guide complements the eSIM installation guide you receive when you first receive your Telgea plan. You can return to this guide to confirm that your device is correctly configured whenever you need.

✅ Correct setup ensures stable connectivity and keeps you reachable at all times.

⚙️ Step 1: Name Your eSIMs

Rename your eSIMs so you can easily recognize them:

  1. Go to your SIM/Cellular settings depending on your device.

  2. Tap each SIM and name them:

    • "Business" (for primary usage) - used for voice, SMS, and data while in your home country (e.g., Sweden), and for international calling and testing when abroad.

    • "Travel" - used only for mobile data when traveling internationally but can also work as a back up data eSIM.

  3. If you have other eSIMs in your device that you don't use, it is a good idea to remove these.

Personal SIMs

  • You may need to temporarily disable your personal SIM to activate the Business or Travel data eSIM.

  • Once the data eSIM is active, you can disable the data eSIM when you're back in your home country if preferred, this allows both your personal and business numbers to remain active without conflict.

📶 Step 2: Default Calling and Data Settings

On iPhone

  1. Set Default Voice Line and Data

    • Go to Settings > Cellular or Mobile Service

    • Set “Business” as the default line for both Voice and Mobile Data.

  2. Enable Both Lines

    • Under Settings > Cellular or Mobile Service, ensure both your Travel and Business lines are toggled On.

  3. Enable Mobile Data Switching

    • Tap Mobile Data.

    • Toggle “Allow Mobile Data Switching” to On.

    • This allows the iPhone to automatically switch to the best available data line when needed.

You can tap into each eSIM line (Business or Travel) to view and adjust its configuration settings. Follow these steps for optimal performance:

  1. Activate the Line

    • Ensure the selected eSIM (Business or Travel) is set to On and actively connected.

  2. Disable Wi-Fi Calling

    • Navigate to Settings > Phone > Wi-Fi Calling.

    • Toggle Wi-Fi Calling to Off.

    • This prevents dropped calls when moving between Wi-Fi and mobile networks, which can happen in areas with weak Wi-Fi signals.

  3. Manage Data Roaming Settings

    • For the Business eSIM:

      • Data Roaming can be toggled On or Off—this does not affect service.

    • For the Travel eSIM:

      • Data Roaming must be turned On for the line to function correctly.

On Android

  1. Disable Wi-Fi Calling
